Never been to TextSnippets before?

Snippets is a public source code repository. Easily build up your personal collection of code snippets, categorize them with tags / keywords, and share them with the world (or not, you can keep them private!)

Copy and rename files with wildcards (globs) (See related posts)

To copy files jgarner_* to Alias_*:

Dir.glob("jgarner_*") { |name| `cp #{name} #{name.sub(/jgarner_/, "Alias_")}`}

or

ruby -e 'Dir.glob("jgarner_*") { |name| `cp #{name} #{name.sub(/jgarner_/, "Alias_")}`}'

You might want to look at zsh's zmv:

zmv -W jgarner_* Alias_*

It's *way* more powerful than that but that's the simplest use case.
