Turn off Windows Messenger IM client

A fresh install of Windows will have the Microsoft Messenger IM client set to start on boot up. To turn it off:

1) Start >> Run >> gpedit.msc, and then press ENTER
2) Double-click the following items to expand them:

* Local Computer Policy
* Computer Configuration
* Administrative Templates
* Windows Components
* Windows Messenger

3) Set the option "Do not allow Windows Messenger to run", and then click Enabled.

4. Set "Do not automatically start Windows Messenger initially" to enabled.
